Student Advisory Committee (At School)
6th - 8th Grade | 3pm select Tuesdays- Did you enjoy the penny drive, the holiday cheer and the spring fling last year? Join the student council and help make them happen!

Heart & Sole
6th - 8th Grade | 3:15-4:45pm Tuesdays & Thursdays- Heart & Sole is an after-school running program for 6th to 8th grade girls.
- The Heart and Sole team will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:15 to 4:45 p.m., though times may shift a bit to accommodate other after-school activities students may be doing.

Fairmount Mountain Bike Team (22nd and Brown Streets)
6th - 8th Grade | 3:30-6:30 pm Monday & Wednesdays- The Fairmount Bike team is open to all 6th-8th graders in the Art Museum area; the team is part of a national organization called NICA with its PA branch called PICL.
- NICA/PICL want more kids on bikes and Fairmount Bike Team is hosting two "Try it days" next Monday (Sept 18) and Wednesday (Sept 20) from 3:30-6:30 at the Sedgley Porter House in the northwest corner of Lemon Hill by the playground.
- Bache-Martin Tigers can meet at the corner of 22nd and Brown, and ride together, led by organizer, and Bache-Martin parent, Brady Gibney of Cadence Cycling.
- If your student has a bike, bring it along, otherwise we have ten bikes generously donated by Giant for the students to use. No mountain bike experience necessary.
- If your student wants to join the team they will hold practices for the next 8 weeks, meeting at the Sedgley Porter house and riding around there, the goal is to eventually ride the path to Belmont and ride real single track (in a safe and guided way of course!).

Cheer Squad (At School)
(6th-8th Grade | 3:15-4:30 Tuesdays and Thursdays)- This year our mission will be to focus on teaching the kids the fundamentals of cheer, team spirit, and being part of a community. We wil. work hard, but we also want all of our cheerleader athletes to have fun as they grow and develop.
- We will be meeting two days a week: Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 3:15-4:30pm. Practices will be held at the gym (we will inform you of any changes).
- For every practice, your child will need:
- Water Bottle
- Appropriate sneakers
- Shorts and a shirt covering their midriff
- Hair needs to be up and out of the face
- All players are expected to attend every practice
- If your child will miss a practice, please let the coach know ASAP. If a player misses a practice with a new stunt/dance/cheer, we would try my best to get them caught up but it's ultimately their responsibility to catch themselves up. If a player has 5 or more absences, a parent meeting will be requested.

Bache Martin Golf Team
6th-8th GradeWant to channel your inner Michelle Wie or Tiger Woods? All 6th,7th and 8th graders, who want to be a part of the golf team please see Mr Nugent! - Those interested must have the PIAA Comprehensive Initial Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation form completed and turned in to Mr Nugent.
- We will practice two days a week:
- The first day will be on a Monday at Walnut Lane Golf Course. We will be bussed to Walnut Lane Golf course and be taught a golf lesson from a First Tee instructor. We will leave school approximately 1:15 and return by 5:30pm.
- The second day (to be determined) will be at Bache Martin gymnasium from 3:00 - 4:15.
- Session Information:
- The program starts in the second week of October.
- Two days a week.
- Available to all 6th, 7th and 8th graders.

Girls Volleyball Team (At School & Lloyd Hall)
6th-8th Grade- Home games will be played at Lloyd Hall on Boathouse Row. Practices, which are split between Lloyd Hall and Bache-Martin, will be after school three to four times a week.
- Every player will need a complete sports physical to play.

History Club (At School)
6th - 8th Grade | 3pm Every other Tuesday- Calling all historians in grades 6-8!
- Join us to learn how to think like a historian, make a project for National History Day, and even take field trips to learn about historical sites and museums in Philadelphia.

Wrestling with "Beat The Streets" (3700 Market Street)
(5-8th | Tuesday & Thursdays, 6:30-8pm)Bache-Martin is excited to partner with Beat the Streets Philadelphia, a mentoring and practice program for students K-8, to offer a wrestling team this winter.- Wrestling practices will be led by Lender Vega and Les Brown. All programs are co-ed. To register, please visit BTSPhilly.org/waiver.
- No experience is necessary and practices will emphasize fundamentals and learning the sport. Competitions will take place in January and February against other BTS Philly teams. Wrestling is a co-ed opportunity and open to all interested middle school boys and girls.
- Additionally, all members of the Bache-Martin wrestling team are eligible for academic mentoring, homework help, and additional practices run by Penn and Drexel wrestlers at the Beat the Streets Mentoring Center.

Philadelphia City Rowing
7th-8th grades | Mondays, Wednesday and Friday 4:30-6:15pm, Saturdays 1-2pmBache-Martin 7th and 8th graders can sign up for Philadelphia City Rowing's after-school program, which runs from September 18 until October 25.- Students will learn about rowing through both on-the-water and land workouts. In addition, PCR provides a general introduction to fitness, nutrition education, and environmental education.
- Practices are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4:30 to 6:15 p.m. And this year, PCR will be rolling out some new enrichment programming and moving the land day to its NEW INDOOR FACILITY at 4017 Cambridge Street.
Want to enroll? Here's what you need to do:- Please complete our MIDDLE SCHOOL ENROLLMENT FORM. This will get you registered and ready for the fall.
- Sit tight while we finish finalizing all the details and get ready for the season. We will be sending out program acceptances in early September. That email will include lots more program information, including the student athlete handbook, what to prepare for on day 1, and more!
